A request from Germany Mulligatawny soup

2-3 pounds of chicken cut up
1 cup each  diced  onion, celery, carrot, turnip
1 quart of water
1 tsp each  tarragon  & thyme

1/4 cup chopped parsley

salt & pepper & 1 bay leaf

simmer for 3 hours

remove chicken & strain broth

place broth in pot

Fry 5 slices of bacon , add 4 tomatoes pealed & chopped .

stir in 1/3 cup of flour & 2 tsp. curry powder  ...Add to broth

add chopped chicken & simmer 2 hours

serves 8 people
